I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and I have had the great privilege of being able to work for over 25 years treating individuals, couples, families, and groups, I am particularly fond of working with emerging adults, women’s issues, other therapists, and ministry and spiritual issues. My clients are among some of the bravest people I have met and I continue to be inspired by their work.
I have both a BA and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College.
I believe that a warm, healing relationship is central to the process of growth and change. The reason that I provide therapy is for the joy of witnessing other’s growth while participating in the larger transformational process that occurs in their lives. When an individual is released from past hurts, disappointments, or fears, they are freed up to be their true selves and to live a more abundant life. I believe our relationships are often the source of our deepest wounds and yet are also the source of our deepest healing.
I strive to create a safe and nurturing space to be able to walk alongside my clients, helping them attain their unique goals. I have a passion for seeing individuals grow and for using therapy creatively to meet individuals wherever they are. While I use a variety of therapeutic approaches in my work I primarily work from a relational psychodynamic and family systems approach. When appropriate, I also often use expressive therapies that go beyond talk therapy such as IFS, EMDR, dream work, art, and gestalt techniques to help clients be able to further express and access themselves. I specialize in the treatment of relationships, family issues, women’s issues, college-age population, eating disorders, body image, depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, spiritual concerns, grief, intimacy, and identity issues.
I have specialized training in: eating disorders, dream work, gestalt, EMDR, and IFS level 1 training.
